Friday, December 11, 2:43 PM: Marion Crane is in a Phoenix hotel room with her boyfriend Sam Loomis, who cannot afford to marry her because of his debts. That afternoon Marion's employer sends her to deposit $40,000 in cash at the bank. She deposits none of it. She packs a bag, puts the cash in her purse, and drives north out of Phoenix. She will not arrive at her destination.
