Doctor Who (1963)

On November 23, 1963, science teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright follow their strange, brilliant student Susan Foreman to the address she has given them: 76 Totter's Lane, a junkyard in Shoreditch. Inside the fence they find a police telephone box that is warm to the touch — and, impossibly, larger on the inside. Susan's grandfather, who gives only the name 'the Doctor,' refuses to let them leave, and the ship dematerialises. The episode aired the day after President Kennedy was assassinated; the BBC repeated it the following week.
