Back to the Future Part III (1990)

In-fiction date: 9/7/1885

On September 7, 1885, Doc Brown and Marty McFly hijack the locomotive Midnight Flyer outside Hill Valley and use it to push the DeLorean to 88 miles per hour before the tracks run out at Shonash Ravine. The tombstone Marty found in 1955's Hill Valley cemetery — Doc Brown, shot by Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen on this date — dissolves and disappears. The DeLorean is destroyed by the oncoming train. Doc arrives in 1985 six months later in a time machine of his own construction.
